Lonely Little Petunia In An Onion Patch
Of all the saddest words
That I have ever heard
The saddest is the story
Told me by a bird
He had spent about and hour
A Chatting with a flower
and here ís the tale the flower told
Ooooh, I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch,
an onion patch, an onion patch
I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch
and all I do is cry all day
Boo hoo, boo hoo
The air ís so strong it takes my breath away
feee---you
I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch,
oh won't you come and play with me
Who put me in this bed?
I'll bet his face is red
I call him down with every teardrop that I shed
If I only had him here
I'd take him by the ear
And make him share my misery
Ooooh, I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch,
an onion patch, an onion patch
I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch
and all I do is cry all day
Boo hoo, boo hoo
The air ís so strong it takes my breath away
feee---you
I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch,
oh won't you come and play with me
My nerves begin to crack
Each time I see a track
Made by a kitty with a
stripe right down his back
If he ever stopped by me,
I think I'd rather be
A dead petunia, wouldn't you?
Ooooh he ís a lonely little petunia in an onion patch,
an onion patch, an onion patch
He ís a lonely little petunia in an onion patch
And all he does is cry all day
Boo hoo, boo hoo
The air ís so strong it takes my breath away.
Feee-you!
I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch,
oh won't you come and play with me
If any one knows who is singing this please let me know.
I believe it to be either Arthur Godfrey, or Red Skeleton, but I am not sure.!!!!! also would love to know year it was written. Well we solved that answer, it was written in 1946
Now I know this is not a Petunia, but!! My dear hubby found this beautiful Gerber Daisey all alone in a weed patch. Now he wouldn't pick it cause he said it was to purtty But he brought me a picture of it, hahahaha,
And to my amazment we both started singing this song from way long ago, Now how we thought of it when we can't think what day it is, who knows. But we sure had fun a singing it. So hope you do to, So open up those lungs ,smile, and sing along loud and clear with laughter and fun. This redbird and Her hubby sure did!!!! Oooohhhhhh We could start a cyberspace karaoke!
